Hi,
I am doing research for the New England Lost Ski Area Project which has expanded to include New York, New Jersey and a few other locations. I have several old postcards from the ski areas that were at the Concord and Grossinger's. I know there were also ski hills associated with some of the other hotels that flourished there in the 50's, 60's and early 70's. I was wondering if anyone could give me some information on the hills and their operation (history). It would be great to know when the areas opened, when they closed, if they were only for guests or open to the public, rental equipment available, amenities in the lodge, grooming, day/night skiing, snowmaking, etc. It would also be great to get some photos and/or literature from their time of operation. I'd like the information to write an article for
http://nelsap.org, a site for the preservation of ski history memories.
Thank you,
Laurie Puliafico
